Alaska Gold Panning - Gold panning is provided at comfortable, stand-up troughs in the campground. The pay-dirt is
taken directly from our mining operation at Lost Chicken Mine; any gold you find is yours to keep. Pans are provided
at no extra charge!
Recreational Gold Mining - Relive the Alaska gold rush era: mine on a nearby creek amid the diggings of old prospectors from the late 1800s.
Besides the gold panning in the campground, we offer modern Alaska gold rush experiences with gold pans,
hand sluices, or high bankers on our nearby claims on Myers Fork Creek (either your equipment or our rentals). You can also metal detect or suction dredge (limited to 2 1/2") with your equipment.
Our claims are open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
Music - The annual "Chickenstock Music Festival" is held the 2nd week of June - see the
Chickenstock website for more information).
Other impromptu gatherings are held on the Outpost deck in the evenings.
Day Trips - A day trip from Chicken, Alaska to Eagle, Alaska is a great adventure with the opportunity to see the mighty
Yukon River, enjoy magnificent scenery, view wildlife and experience life in a remote Alaskan village. Or take a drive over
the "Top of the World" to Dawson City and back which offers many more opportunities.
If you don't want to haul your 5th wheel or drive your motorhome, you can leave it in the RV park/campground for the return trip for a small daily fee.
Other - Local hiking trails and ATV trails provide access to historical sites, wildlife
viewing opportunities and spectacular vistas, more gold prospecting and great caribou or moose hunting. Fishing is accessible nearby (license required).
Several historical tours are available including the Pedro Dredge with associated mining relics.
